Why should I create an account and become a member?

Why do I need to provide a secret question?
- A secret question is used to let you access the system if you lose your password. Please make sure this is a question that only you will know the answer to.
How secure is my account information?

Who has access to my account information?
- Relate staff may access your information for a number of purposes including: service administration; contacting users about submissions made to Relate for Parents; to analyse and improve the services offered. Further information is available in our Privacy Policy, please click here.
How do I change my account information such as my e-mail or password?
- Click on the Forgot Password? link and enter the e-mail address that you used to register on the site. You will then be shown your secret question and when you provide your answer to the question you will be sent an e-mail with a new password on it. We encourage you to change this password when you next log in.
Why should I sign up for e-mail alerts?
- Relate may from time to time send e-mails to advise you of changes in the Relate for Parents service, for example by telling you about any updates or planned maintenance. We may also contact you with information about member benefits, including prize draws.
How can I provide feedback on my experience?
- We are always looking to improve our services and value your feedback, either positive or negative. Please click here to complete our feedback form on the Contact Us page.
How often should I change my password?
- You will never be forced to change your password on Relate for Parents, but we would recommend you change it regularly, perhaps monthly. Try to use passwords that are not easy to guess, but that you can remember and using numbers and other characters will make it your password more secure.

Articles, Videos and Podcasts

How do I find support material?
- Relate for Parents contains lots of interesting, useful and fun articles, videos and audio podcasts. You can either click on the Support Library links or use our Search function to find something useful. If you can't find what you're looking for, please Contact Us so that we can improve our service.

Family Mapping

Where is my map information saved and how secure is it?
- Information is stored on Relate's secure servers. Click here to read our privacy policy.
Can I delete my map information?
- Yes. Login to the site, follow the My Maps link and choose the map you would like to delete and click the delete button.
How can I share my map information with a Relate counsellor?
- At the moment, Family Mapping can't be shared with a counsellor in Live Chat or via Telephone or SMS. However, we hope to add this functionality in the future. You can always save your maps on the site and print them out to share with your counsellor if you are accessing counselling at a Relate centre.
How does Family Mapping work?

How long will my map information be saved?
- Information is stored on Relate's secure servers permanently, although we may need to archive information depending on how many users are storing maps and information. Click here to read our privacy policy for more information.

Can I view my map information without being connected to the internet?
- Family Mapping is only available online at Relate for Parents, but you can print off a copy of your mapping information to look at when you are not connected to the internet.

I am visually impaired and unable to use Family Mapping, what are my alternatives?
- Relate provides counselling services for everyone in a number of ways. Please try our Live Chat service or SMS via the Relate for Parents web-site. Alternatively, you can access Telephone counselling. Relate provides face to face counselling services at over 600 locations nationally via a network of Relate Centres and Licensed Counsellors.
