Chloe's very positive response to the news that her mum and Steve are getting married shows that they have learned from the "holiday episode" and are treating her less as a child and more as a young adult who has a view on the situation. Allowing her to know about the marriage from the start gives Chloe the chance to have her say in the wedding planning, and she will then feel positive about her ideas being taken into consideration. It will help this new family to feel that they are a team working together.
