Steve has clearly put a lot of effort into his relationship with Richie - and maybe Richie has too. Richie is  surprised that his Mum wants HIM to walk her down the aisle - but he appears happy to do that. Being so involved in the wedding will help the new family to feel like a team, and Richie will have a central role to play in the wedding, so will have a sense of being included and of being close and important to his Mum. There is also a great sense of symbolism in Zoe, Chloe and Richie coming in to the wedding together to join Steve, who  will be waiting for them

• Richie is also close to his biological father - who do you think should tell his Dad about the wedding?
